Take it to the Teeth
Installation/Performance, Glenbow Museum, Calgary, January 1993.
Take it to the Teeth was an installation with an opening night performance for 2 musicians, 2 vocalists, and 5 performers. There was also a 1-hour daily performance, which took place for the 45 days of the exhibition. The 8 audio tapes were exposed as the two end gallery walls were removed and chewed by the performers. The layout and structures of the installation referenced the digestive system of the body and the performance enacted the processes of excavation, elimination, and reconfiguring of memories.
