Shudder
Performance, Ace Art Gallery, Winnipeg, May 2000
Shudder was a performance for 2 vocalists, 4 performers, and 2 motorized audio speakers which moved continuously back and forth along the length of the side walls as they played backed the audio component. The audience sat in the central cinema area surrounded by curtains, which were lowered and raised according to the content of the video projection and the performance. Their vision was obscured at times, as the image on the screen was simultaneously enacted by a performer in the midst, who would drop the cords holding the curtains up and block their view of the other performers.
